This is the one of the largest lake in Namakkal District. Somur yeri which is having an area of 360 acres and situated in the O.Sowdapuram village. Now this lake is polluted with the contaminated drainage water from Salem district. The entire agriculture is depending on this lake only. Twenty years ago this lake water used as a drinking water, now this water is not suitable because due to contaminated inlets.
